Singapore!

So we spent the day today wandering around Singapore. It's an amazing city!!! More clean and advanced than any city I've ever been to. The transit system far exceeds the subway or T or any other one I've been on. Totally clean with tv's and tons of really fast people movers. It's weird because everyone speaks a different langauge but everything in the city is in English...all the signs and tv, radio, you name it. Makes it easy for us. It's a nice encounter with the familiar after way different Bali. There is every kind of food you can imagine although neither of us have our appetites back yet.
Today we went to a few HUGE shopping malls I guess you would call them, the biggest malls I've ever seen, then went out to Sentosa island via cable car over the harbor where we went to a butterfly garden, learned about the Singapore merlion, And rode segways...which are our new favorite form of transportation. We were feeling worn out so we then caught a movie in the biggest movie theature I've ever been in with gloriously comfortable seats. Like I said, very nice to feel somewhat connected with the modern world (for me anyway). That and I totally fit in here because everyone has iPhones!!! Good times!

  3. Haven't checked in on you two for a week or so. Sounds like your currently being rewarded for your sufferage in Bali. It'll all make for good story telling later on....nobody believes good times all the time! Jess, the crew just isn't the same, I think Tom misses you because he hired another Jess! I already have Tautog and WFL in the freezer.....we've pulled in a couple SNS in the river but only a couple so far. Enjoy, and I'll keep a look out for your next tweet, blog, adventure....whatever.

  4. Hey guys, This sounds a lot better - let's hear it for Singapore!! It's much more like home, methinks. Anyway, it looks as though you're on the verge of arriving in Thailand; wow, it's hard to keep up with your itinerary! All's well here, for the most part; Grandpa had a little problem last Tues. with a tooth extraction, so he's a little under the weather, but things are slowly improving; you can't keep that guy down!! You have outdone yourselves with the almost daily blogs. Thank you so much! Love you, Gram
